Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town Day 1

Habits

Habits spring/summer 2014 collection was the first show we attended at Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week, and what a delight it was. The show started off with black and white garments which were, in our opinion, the perfect combination of classic vintage styles and modern silhouettes. Feminine lace dresses, pleated and billowing high waisted skirts, flared suit pants with fitted shirts, and show-stopping evening dresses. Then came all the summery floral prints and bold colours. Well done Jenny le Roux on a lovely, wearable collection!

Rosenwerth

We always look forward to seeing Rosenwerth‘s latest collection, particularly to ogle over the breathtakingly beautiful bridal gowns and evening dresses. Above are our favourites from the collection – a pastel purple draped 50s style dress with a matching waistbelt, a statement sheer full skirt paired with a body-shaper and cardigan, a timeless embellished top paired with a sheer full skirt (which could be showcased at Paris Fashion Week), and a transparent black lace wedding gown.

Cheryl Arthur

Every season we drool over Mary Katrantzou and Peter Pilotto’s collections of beautifully printed garments at London Fashion Week and dream of buying something similar – and at an affordable price. The good news is…now we can! Cheryl Arthur‘s debut collection consisted of soft, silky dresses with interesting prints of pretty flamingos, oriental blossoms (our favourite), colourful birds as well as union jack and brocade prints.
